FAQ
For beginners just shorts and a tshirt is perfect. No heels required unless you want to.
For beginners no, you’re welcome to bring them if you want to wear them though. For more advanced classes and choreo it’s usually recommended.
You can purchase online from Hella Heels or Pleaser.
Everyone is welcome at Gold! We are an inclusive safe space for all to dance!
If you are feeling nervous to come to a new space just get in touch, we can show you around, answer any questions and introduce you to your teacher. You are not a bother if you need a little helping hand through the door, we’re here for you x
Yes of course! Dancing is for everybody!
The reality is that the heavier the body, the more strength is required to lift it… that is true. So if you don’t have a fitness background it might take a little longer to get the strength moves BUT the wonderful advantage of being in a heavier body is that you’ll be getting so strong! And there really is no rush to get any particular trick, there’s plenty of class options to suit everyone at all levels!
There’s also tricks that actually work better on thick thighs, so you’ll find you have the advantage sometimes too… especially with flexibility training!
Body shapes and sizes do not affect the other sides of pole, the dancing, musicality, coordination, performance energy, styling, creativity.
So, no matter your body shape or size… pole dancing is something you should try, at least once! There really is something for everyone is this beautiful expressive art.
There are plenty of different bodies that attend Gold, if you’re feeling unsure just drop me a dm and I will put you in touch with students that will support you (as well as your teachers) along your journey!
Yes! Absolutely. Our team of teachers are some of the kindest and most welcoming people you will meet, some of them are also nonbinary / gender fluid too!
We ask everyone’s pronouns at the start of term so you will always be addressed how you wish to be.
You wouldn’t go to a french class if you were already fluent in french would you? It’s the same with dancing, you don’t need any specific level of anything to join the beginners classes, we will teach you right from the start.
You must be over 18 to participate in classes at The Golden Era Studio but anyone above that is welcome, there is no “too late” in dancing!
Most classes are 1 hour each. Terms run for 10 weeks, so for each course you book you will get ten classes.
You can do a catch up class! As long as the class is your level and there are free spots available you can jump in for a catch up. We will give you all the info at the start of term. Your catch up classes must be done within the same term, they do not roll over into the next term.
Have a quick read through our levelled class prerequisites, plus the timetable has a guide on it to help you work out what class suits your level. Still unsure? Get in touch and we can help you.
Yes absolutely, there are casual class passes available through the booking system.
If you have never done pole before you’ll need to complete a term of Level 1 pole before you can join the rest of the classes casually.
We are a boutique studio with a focus on community, connection and friendship. You will get to know your teacher and classmates, build friendships and enjoy more intimate classes than most schools.
Each pole has plenty of space around it for you to dance without being in each other’s way.
We value each and every student that walks through our doors, we strive to make you feel at home here. We welcome everyone and provide a safe space to dance, learn and play.
Want to check out the space? If you’re a beginner jump into an Intro to Pole workshop. If you already dance grab a trial pass and pick any 3 different classes to try out!
Yes!
We have 3 different payment options available.
– Pay in full when booking.
– Pay 50 / 50 (50% Deposit & 50% in week 1)
– Weekly payment plan – Just dm us to set up this option.
That’s totally up to you! Most people start with 2 different classes per week to get a taste for it, especially because that is our best discount! Your first course is $335, then if you add a second course in that term it’s only $180. Then they just keep getting cheaper!
Anyone signing up for 3 weekly classes also get FREE flex classes and FREE practice sessions, unlimited for the entire term!
Classes are non refundable after booking so please choose carefully. We don’t like this option anymore than you honestly but we have to do this as we need to meet minimum class numbers to run the class, this is a business and a small one at that.
So, once you’re booked in you agree to the terms and conditions which means the course is paid in full. You may swap a class if you need to change but you cannot ‘unbook’ a course or transfer to another term.
Easter long weekend we close Friday – Monday but usually single public holidays we are open.
Join our student group Facebook – The Golden Era Students. (You will only be approved if you’re enrolled).
