Hello, welcome to Gold!

I’m Luci James, the founder of The Golden Era Studio, formally Bobbi’s Gold.
In 2010 I accidently moved to Australia from London (more on that later). As all outsiders do, I found it hard to break into Aussie circles and make real friendships, so… I started dancing!
As a kid I had done a little dancing but nothing serious, I stepped in and out of a few classes through my teens and tried a little salsa & bachata as an adult before finding Pole & Burlesque… it all changed from there. I finally found something I obsessed over and here we are 15 years later with my very own beautiful studio! (Honestly wild).

In 2011 I was a student in this very studio, just before it opened to the public my bestie and I did privates with Bobbi just after we became teachers ourselves, she introduced me to a woman who later opened studio on the Central Coast and I taught there for 12 lovely years.
In Feb 2024 I got a message from the previous owner of Gold, one thing led to another and 2 days later we shook on a deal for me to buy the studio.
(When I tell you I’m big on manifestation – believe me, this is my evidence lol)

My highest priority is always the community space! The women I met in dance classes have shaped my life. Those same besties I met in pole classes are the same gals that designed this Gold logo, painted these walls, helped me create my Stage Queen comp and are at every big event right there with me. My pole girls are… truely unbelieveble.
Nothing brings me more joy than seeing the start of the friendships that I now have, come to life in this studio.
